Lína Rut Wilberg was born in Ísafjörður in 1966. She completed a nine-month makeup course from Christian Chaveau in Paris in 1987, a degree from the painting department of the Icelandic Academy of Arts and Crafts in 1994, and a course in cardboard sculpture, Florence in 1995.
